Aston Business School, located in the heart of Birmingham - England’s second largest city - seeks to appoint a highly motivated, ambitious academic with the ability and interest to provide excellence in research, teaching and impact in the field of Finance. The Department of Economics, Finance, and Entrepreneurship (EFE) is expanding its Finance offering by expanding the range of Master's degrees in Finance. We also offer a successful and attractive undergraduate degree in Finance.

We seek to employ a Lecturer in Finance, who is an active researcher, starting from January 2025. We are seeking a scholar who will energetically participate in the development of the Finance section in the future, in innovative and high-quality teaching and research. You should hold or be near completion of a PhD in a relevant finance-related area and have the ability to deliver (i) first-class research that combines theoretical sophistication with practical relevance and impact, (ii) an excellent student experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and (iii) generating income through research grants. We would be particularly interested to hear from people with expertise in teaching treasury management and strategic finance.

By joining the EFE department, you will be part of a group of academics whose research has been published in leading journals and are experienced in successfully supervising PhDs and obtaining research funding. We provide an environment that supports academic excellence, encourages mutual support and teamwork, and nurtures the development of young academics.

The appointed academic will be expected to supervise PhD students, Masters students and students on industrial placements. A teaching qualification is desirable but if you are at an early stage in your career, then we will work with you to ensure you have a teaching qualification and fellowship of Advance HE.
