The Corporate and Professional Services departments are the cornerstone of the University. They each provide essential and valuable support to both each other and the Academic departments, helping the University to function in the most efficient and productive way, ensuring that the students’ experience is second to none.
The Student Support Manager (Universal Support) post holder will lead the professional services team managing the universal support processes within the faculty such as mitigating circumstances and personal tutoring as well as co-ordinating the support being provided to individual students with health and wellbeing needs and those with disabilities.
The role holder will have responsibility for managing administrative systems covering all stages of the support processes including identifying students with support needs, developing support plans with the relevant staff and students, co-ordinating referrals, follow up and monitoring, maintaining student records and preparing reports and other documents for in-house and external stakeholders. They will work closely with the other manager within the domain who is responsible for the concerns processes within the faculty that are applicable to those students who may be at risk of not completing the course due to concerns around academic progress, professionalism and/or fitness to practice, to ensure that support is co-ordinated and to transfer students between teams as appropriate to their situation.
The Faculty Student Support Manager will join a strong administrative team in the Faculty who support each other in their roles and would be expected to support events such as new student selection; open days; assessment days; training events; induction week, graduation etc.
