The Opportunity:
We are looking for a highly qualified individual to join the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, with experience in delivery of teaching in biomedical engineering, in connection with mechanical engineering.
The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and support for undergraduate BEng/MEng and postgraduate MSc taught programmes. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and support for undergraduate BEng/MEng and postgraduate MSc taught programmes.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach on courses ‘Living Materials and their Biomaterial Replacements 4/MSc’ and ‘Design of Surgical Tools and Implanted Medical Devices 4/MSc’. Topics to be covered include: the cardiovascular system, vascular grafts, keyhole surgery, catheters, heart valves, stents, dialysis, regulations for biomedical devices and biomaterials, biocompatibility, sterilisation, viscoelastic properties of tissues, blood modelling, bioprinting, dialysis, artificial livers/kidneys and tissue engineering. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to supervise project students.
This position is full-time and fixed-term for 12 months.
