The Opportunity:

The Edinburgh Futures Institute has launched a suite of ambitious and innovative interdisciplinary undergraduate and postgraduate futures programmes designed for those who embrace new ways of thinking and want an education that helps shape a better future, for themselves and for our world.

We are seeking an experienced higher education professional to lead and oversee the quality assurance and ongoing strategic and operational development of the Edinburgh Futures Institute’s taught curriculum. This new and exciting role is an opportunity to join an award-winning team at an exciting time to assure the sustainability, high quality and success of EFI’s programmes and courses for an increasingly diverse academic and student community.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering flexible working patterns. The Edinburgh Futures Institute encourages hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working in the new Edinburgh Futures Institute building on Lauriston Place.

The post is available fixed-term for 2 years. Secondments will be considered for internal candidates.

Your skills and attributes for success: 

  • A keen interest in the Edinburgh Futures Institute, its values and educational mission
  • Demonstrated experience in utilising data and evidence to identify areas for change and assess the impact or success of initiatives implemented within a higher education context
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully implement change in higher education, demonstrating effective planning, execution, management, and leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at engaging and influencing senior academic figures and key stakeholders
  • Project management skills and experience
