My First 1,000 Days project
Are you interested in working on a project aimed at improving the long-term development and life chances of children born into disadvantaged communities? Do you have experience managing busy research projects?
We are looking for a highly self-motivated and flexible individual with a positive approach to work on the ‘My First 1000 Days’ project, a transformational programme of work to improve the long-term development and life chances of children born into some of Britain’s most disadvantaged communities. Funded by a substantial donation from an individual donor, the project harnesses expertise from research groups across the University and works with a wide range of regional and international partners. This programme has differing workstreams that represent a holistic approach to the crucial first 1000 days of a child’s life. The aim for these workstreams, is to develop an overarching programme that may influence and inform national policy, especially around how supporting early parenting can impact language and cognitive development, healthy behaviours, and support the flourishing of disabled children. Demonstrating the value of the programme will be critical to the long-term impact of this work.
Your primary role will be to support with the day-to-day management and operationalising of the research project, working closely with the Senior Project Manager (Dr Shirley-Anne Paul). You will need strong management, administrative and communication skills, the ability to complete tasks quickly and to a high standard, and to have an organised and flexible approach to work.
