We are seeking Teaching Fellows in GP and Community Education (Associate Lecturer) to contribute to the teaching and assessment of undergraduate medical students within the KMMS undergraduate programme. These roles offer an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team of medical educators working to establish and deliver an innovative and integrated undergraduate medical curriculum across all years of the programme.

KMMS has been created to be a beacon for first-class medical education and research. Bringing together the resources of the University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University, our whole ethos is one of partnership. 

The roles are available on a part-time basis on a minimum of 0.4 FTE, however, greater FTE may be possible, subject to negotiation. Teaching takes place Monday – Wednesday and the role holder should therefore be available during these days. These roles will involve working on the campus sites of both partner universities in Canterbury and Medway.

As Teaching Fellow in GP and Community Education you can expect to be involved in:

  • Participating in the delivery of small and medium size group teaching. This will include preparation, coordination and administration of teaching sessions. 
  • Contributing to the creation, development and evaluation of course material for student- centred learning and teaching in a variety of settings and across a range of modules or subject areas related to GP and Community Education.
  • Ensuring that the content, methods of delivery and learning materials will meet the defined learning objectives.

What will you bring to the role?

  • A registered healthcare professional with experience of working in Primary Care.
  • Advanced knowledge of the relevant subject area to effectively deliver teaching within the BMBS programme.
  • A demonstrable interest in teaching and learning in undergraduate or postgraduate learning and teaching in medicine or a closely related discipline.
