The Sainsbury Laboratory (TSL), a world leading research institute is seeking Research Assistants to join our dynamic team. As a Research Assistant, you will work with Group Leaders to achieve research goals spanning plant and microbial disciplines. We have exciting opportunities in advanced genomic technology development, structural computational analysis, mass spectrometry, and cell-based assay development.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely alongside team members, assuming a supervisory and project management role to help teams achieve objectives in discovery science and translational research programmes.
  • Manage laboratory and computing operations efficiently to support ongoing research projects.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of projects alongside team members and under the supervision of Group Leaders.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with colleagues, collaborators and other stakeholders.

Key requirements

  • PhD in a life science related field.
  • Proven experience in project coordination or similar roles.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to details.
  • Sequencing and bioinformatics experience considered a plus.
  • Ideally dynamic and highly motivated.

Employment basis: 3-year initial fixed-term contract, subject to a 6-month probationary period.

Hours of work: 9.00am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday, 9.00am to 5.00pm Friday.

Salary: University of East Anglia, R&A Staff Grade 7 scale at between £33,797- £46,974pa Dependant on relevant experience, qualifications, skills, knowledge, and achievements.
