Are you an experienced events professional who enjoys working collaboratively and wants to make a positive impact on people’s lives? Are you looking for a part-time role with real responsibility? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join the Careers & Employability Service as our Employer Events Manager.

This role offers the opportunity to design and deliver a programme of impactful events to help our students and graduates connect with local, national and international employers. Working alongside colleagues within the Careers & Employability Service and wider University, your events will attract hundreds of employers each year and enable our students to explore and embark on their future careers.

You will be a highly organised events professional with significant experience of designing and delivering large scale, complex events such as exhibitions. You will be comfortable using technology and IT platforms in the management and delivery of events and have a keen eye for detail particularly regarding budget management and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction. Your excellent communication skills will be evident in your flair for event marketing, and you will already have experience of line management. You will understand the higher education environment and awareness of graduate employer expectations.

The Careers & Employability Service supports students of all levels and disciplines, graduates, and early career researchers by developing, coordinating and providing a wide range of careers and employability advice, guidance, workshops and events. We work closely with professional services and academic colleagues across the University to optimise the integration of skills and employability development within the curriculum and expand student access to work placements and other experiences to develop their skills and attributes.

This role is a key post within our friendly Employer Engagement team with full responsibility for managing a programme of on campus and online employer fairs and events and all associated processes and systems. You will manage one member of staff and work closely with the wider team to provide an attractive offer for employers wishing to engage with and recruit from the University. The team also supports academic schools with the design and delivery of further opportunities for employers to engage with students and contribute to the curriculum and monitors current trends in recruitment and graduate labour market information.
