The University of Gibraltar, specifically the School of Marine & Environmental Science, invites applications for a Senior Lecturer position to teach modules within the School teaching remit. Topics include ‘Ecology, Conservation and Environmental Management’ module, Coastal Zone Management, Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation, Marine Ecosystems and Sustainability and Ecosystem Disaster Risk Reduction within its Environmental Science & Climate Change and Marine Science & Climate Change programmes.
Research-based teaching is at the heart of our teaching ethos where focus is placed on students undertaking enquiry-based learning. Teaching remits include research-based projects, therefore would suit individuals with both a teaching and research background. The position would ideally suit those seeking to apply their experience in a new setting.
Applicants are expected to hold a PhD (or working towards one) or a good research Master’s degree. Applicants should also possess teaching experience in Higher Education (including experience within the United Kingdom) and some relevant industry experience (e.g. such as consultancy/Governmental work/NGO or equivalent). Previous overseas work experience is also desirable. A working knowledge of Mediterranean/local flora and fauna or equivalent is advantageous.
