An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Postgraduate Research Officer to join the Postgraduate Service Team supporting the administration of the Professional Doctorates postgraduate research programmes.
The focus of the role is to provide expert support and management of postgraduate research administration for applicants, students, and supervisors within the Professional Doctorates programme. The Postgraduate Research (PGR) Service manages the whole University process for postgraduate research students from initial enquiry to completion of the degree across all our research degree programmes including the Professional Doctorates.
If successful, you will supervise and manage the Professional Doctorates team, based within the Postgraduate Research Service. Your role will include acting as a point of specialist reference to staff, applicants and students on matters relating to professional doctorates. This includes liaison with internal and external colleagues and agencies, including NHS and education partners.
We are looking for an adaptable candidate with the ability to liaise, negotiate and work collaboratively with colleagues and partners, co-ordinating information across a variety of systems to facilitate the effective delivery and development of the Professional Doctorates programmes. You should be able to identify, manage and deliver Professional Doctorates focussed projects and process improvements.
You should have recent experience of working in a similar role, working with a range of partner organisations and be able to satisfy all essential criteria detailed in the candidate brochure.
The post is available from 1 August 2024 on a full-time indefinite basis.
PGR Service including the Professional Doctorates Team works a hybrid model. The Professional Doctorates Team's fixed on-Campus working days are Tuesday and Friday and the role holder will be expected to work at least one other flexible day on campus, based on their workload, attendance at in-person PGR Service meetings, training or events. It may also be possible for the candidate to work full-time on Campus and this can be discussed during interview.
Further information on our great benefits package, including 44 days annual leave inclusive of Bank Holidays and additional University Customary days (pro rata for part-time), can be found on our benefits page.
Closing Date: 15 July 2024.
The University holds an Athena Swan Silver Institutional Award in recognition of our advancement towards gender equality.
