Applications are invited for a Senior Research Technician position in the Smith Lab. In this role, you will assist with on-going projects in organismal responses to environmental change and host-microbe interactions. Lab duties are wide ranging and may entail sample preparation, standard molecular biology assays, maintaining sea anemone cultures, library prep for next generation sequencing, and potentially bioinformatic data analyses.
You will contribute to smooth running of the laboratory by overseeing training of new lab members, ordering consumables, maintaining inventories, and ensuring health and safety standards are maintained.
This is a dynamic role and would suite a candidate who is excited to play a leading and supporting role in a variety of projects. We are dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive environment, so we encourage you to apply even if your past experience does not match exactly. Further, there is some scope for this position to be tailored towards candidate strengths.
