This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the University of Exeter on a permanent basis. This is a new role which will provide both administrative support to the Divisional Director of University Corporate Services as well as ensuring the smooth running of key University Committees. This vacancy is offered to start from 1st August and provides a fantastic opportunity for launching a career at the University of Exeter.
Summary of the role
This is a new role which will form part of a small team which provides senior support across the Division; this includes diary management for the Divisional Director, finance, administrative support and supporting key initiatives to deliver strategic objectives. Specifically, this post will be aligned to supporting the Assistant Director Governance and their team in delivering the work of the institution’s governance services but may also support to members of the UCS Senior Leadership Team and other senior members as required. The role will be integral to the smooth operation of the Committee Secretariat and work closely with the Committee Secretariat Administrator and colleagues in the President and Vice-Chancellor’s Office.
This post would suit a highly competent administrator who is keen to deliver an exceptional standard of professional support and develop their career in supporting both senior management and the key governing bodies at the University in the delivery of the University’s strategy and the effective day-to-day running of the University.
You will be educated to degree level or with a similar qualification or level of experience, have excellent organisational and communication skills, a high level of interpersonal skills and good all-round IT skills. Previous experience of providing PA support to senior staff in the public or private sectors is highly desirable.
You will be expected to contribute to a range of key projects and activities and will have a strong awareness of dealing with people at the highest level. In this rewarding and interesting role, you will be expected to exercise judgement to manage competing priorities in a very busy working environment. An understanding of how to deal with sensitive and confidential information, excellent team working, as well as the possession of excellent written and inter-personal skills, is essential.
