Main duties and responsibilities
As an Engagement Monitoring Officer within our Teaching Accommodation Services, your primary responsibility will be to coordinate the monitoring of student engagement and attendance. This involves establishing and maintaining productive relationships with key contacts, managing and processing data collection, and ensuring the implementation of monitoring processes in line with the University's policies and regulations. You will participate in the review of business processes, ensuring efficiency in systems and procedures, and producing valuable data and reports to inform decision-making. Your role will also involve communicating with students, providing timely advice and support, and escalating issues when necessary.
You will collaborate with schools and other services to ensure the continuous improvement of our support to staff and students. The University prides itself on supporting its students to succeed in their studies and future careers, and the Engagement Monitoring Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring we provide the best possible service.
Skills and experience required
As this role is data focused, you will be able to demonstrate excellent IT skills. Exceptional organisational skills are essential for successfully coordinating competing demands and deadlines. This includes the ability to prioritise tasks, work independently as well as part of a team, and find solutions within the framework of university policies and principles.
Technical proficiency in utilising various databases and systems is a key requirement. The successful candidate should be adept at navigating a wide range of systems (training on University systems will be provided) to ensure that end-to-end processes are managed efficiently and that the needs of the University and service users are met. Analytical skills are also necessary for monitoring and manipulating data, conducting analyses, and producing reports to contribute to the continuous improvement of business processes.
Effective communication skills are crucial for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders, including school contacts, professional SBUs, and senior managers. Collaborating seamlessly with colleagues and providing clear guidance to users in the form of training, user guides, and support is integral to the role.
Qualifications required
You will hold a minimum of a Degree (or equivalent level qualification), or significant proven experience.
