An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our teaching technical team in the Faculty of Science. The focus of the post will centre on provision for the School Biological Sciences. You will be part of a team of technicians responsible for all aspects of technical support for the laboratory to necessitate the smooth running of undergraduate sessions and high level of service.
Key duties include organising daily lab activities, supervising material preparation, training junior staff, and ensuring lab compliance with procedures. You will operate specialised equipment, assist students with experiments, and demonstrate techniques and operation of equipment. This role offers a chance to contribute to the smooth functioning of undergraduate sessions and maintain high service standards.
You will have proven experience of working in a laboratory environment and must possess a thorough understanding of laboratory safety issues and good laboratory practice.
This full-time post is available from 2 September 2024 on an indefinite basis and will be campus based.
