We are recruiting a Strategic Executive Officer (Research) to provide high-level strategic support to LSHTM’s Pro-Director Research & Academic Development, Professor Caroline Relton.
This is an exciting new role that will facilitate the development and delivery of LSHTM’s strategic priorities across our research, innovation and impact portfolio and in the ongoing development of academic careers in the School, in pursuit of LSHTM’s Strategy 2022-2027.
The postholder will be responsible for driving progress of objectives in these areas, they will provide advice to the Pro-Director and act as their representative, as well as prepare briefings, draft communications and reports and conduct data analysis and visualisation for the Pro-Director.
The applicant will need to demonstrate a willingness to support all aspects of the Pro Director Research and Academic Development portfolio. They will need to collaborate closely with the Strategic Research Office, Associate Deans for Research, Finance, HR, Strategic Planning & Executive Office, as well as other colleagues, and functions as needed.
Applicants should have a Higher Education degree or equivalent experience, excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and be able to command the trust and confidence of a range of stakeholders, internal and external to LSHTM. The ability to think ahead and problem-solve independently is essential, as well as strong data management and analytical and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a research-intensive setting in the Higher Education sector, an understanding of the current challenges and opportunities facing the sector, and a commitment to making a positive impact.
The post is full time 35 hours per week, 1 FTE and permanent.
The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £43,947 - £49,908 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
