About the Role

Luminate Education Group are looking to recruit a new Group Director of Apprenticeships based currently in Eastgate Centre, which is located on the Headrow close to Leeds Cultural and Victoria Quarters. The Eastgate Centre is a short fifteen minute walk from Leeds Train Station. 

We are also one of the biggest providers of apprenticeships regionally. We have strong industry links with local, regional and national employers, ensuring our range of apprenticeships are relevant and current.

What You Will Do

The successful post-holder will provide visible and distinct strategic leadership for all aspects of the Apprenticeship provision across the group as well as playing a leading a role in employer engagement. You will need to demonstrate considerable experience and a good understanding of apprenticeship provision in terms of funding, quality and registry aspects and have a good track record of improving quality outcomes.

You will be responsible for ensuring the Apprenticeship provision continues to grow and is aligned with regional and national skills and growth priorities. You will focus on the quality and continuous improvement of both the apprenticeship and subcontracting provision with the overarching aim of them becoming 'outstanding'.

As an experienced leader, you will lead and coach a team of professionals responsible for apprenticeship recruitment, training, and development and create a distinct and positive reputation and identity which is recognisable across the region and nationally.

You will ensure that all pre-requisites are met for the Register of Apprenticeship Providers and will have full responsibility for being the Apprenticeship income lead and Apprenticeship quality lead across the FE colleges.

About You

  • An excellent understanding of Apprenticeship, MIS and Quality rules and requirements.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of key markets, policy and funding in education and the impact on the college and local partners.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience of creating a high performance team
  • Able to translate strategic planning into the delivery of a high quality provision
  • An excellent understanding of how to deliver exceptional apprenticeship provision in a range of environments and markets.
  • Recent, successful experience of operating at a senior level in a post-sixteen educational organisation
  • strong financial acumen and budget management
