This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scientist to join a new programme in Oxford, the NIHR-funded Biomedical Research Centre Gene and Cell Therapy Theme. You will join Associate Professor James Davies and colleagues in researching genome editing methods for treating human disease. The research project combines advanced genome editing and genomics approaches.
You will be expected to manage the project intellectually and technically using your experience, methodical approach and evaluation of the literature in immunology, computational analysis of proteome, DNA sequencing, RNAseq and/or ATACseq datasets, as well as functional in vitro assays.
You will hold a PhD (or be close to completion – thesis submitted at time of application) in a related biomedical science field, together with pre- and/or postdoctoral research experience. Specialist knowledge in CRISPR technology, together with a good knowledge of statistics, bioinformatics and R programming is essential. You will also possess sufficient specialist knowledge and practical experience in genome editing to work within the established research programme of the laboratory.
This is a fixed-term appointment for 2 years, funded by NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre, with the possibility of extension.
