We are looking for a Health, Safety & Environment Compliance Officer to join the Safety team in Estates and Campus Facilities.

In this role, you will:

  • Produce and maintain Codes of Practice, guidance notes, toolbox talks and other procedural documents for the Estates Division to ensure compliance with Health and Safety at Work Legislation & applicable environmental legislation – ensuring that all Estates Staff are regularly updated.
  • Carry out proactive performance monitoring of all areas under Estates control, including regular and ad-hoc workplace inspections of Estates staff and contractors, ensuring that standards are maintained through the relevant Project Managers and Maintenance Officers.
  • Assist in the preparation and auditing of all training required for Health and Safety and other compliance issues in the Estates Division.
  • Co-ordinate all accident investigations, involving Estates personnel, contractors, or consultants & any incidents with a direct link to estates and facilities, in conjunction with the Health Safety and Asbestos Manager.

  • Are an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual with the ability to take a proactive approach to working methods with excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Have experience of people and project management with Good Customer Service Skills and a significant period of working in an Estates Environment.
  • Can understand and work with staff in a Direct Labour Force, Maintenance Teams, Project Teams and Contractors.
