We wish to appoint a Lecturer within the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, with a growing international research reputation in Earth surface processes, in particular with expertise in sedimentary environments, sedimentary processes, and/or sedimentary geology. Specific areas of interest could include (but are not limited to): processes of sediment transport and deposition, evolution of terrestrial and/or marine depositional systems, geomorphology, basin analysis, stratigraphy, or natural hazards related to the Earth surface.
Candidates should hold a PhD in a related discipline and engage in research that complements the diverse and vibrant research environment of the school. The appointed candidate will develop an externally funded, innovative and impactful research programme. They will contribute research-led teaching in Earth surface processes to undergraduate and taught postgraduate students. The appointee will have the opportunity to offer students a high level of experiential learning - for which the school is renowned - including training in field, laboratory, and computational skills.
