We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented research technician with exceptional organisational skill and experience working with human cells to join our lab at the University College London (UCL) Cancer Institute. The lab led by Dr. Kasper Fugger is focused on uncovering the cellular mechanisms that govern nucleotide metabolism and genome stability to prevent the formation of cancer. Our research has a strong translational focus and we explore new discoveries with a potential for improving chemo and radiation therapy. New insights into these cellular processes will provide new molecular targets for developing more effective cancer therapies that can overcome treatment resistance.
The successful candidate will work alongside the other lab members and be involved in exciting new projects that investigates the molecular mechanisms of nucleotide metabolism and cancer therapies. The candidate will work with cell culturing and state-of-the-art technologies including genome-wide CRISPR screens, CRISPR genome editing, metabolomics as well as various cell and molecular biology assays. The candidate will also help with organising lab inventory and maintain databases.
The technician will be supported by core facility specialist throughout the Cancer Institute.
The position is funded by CRUK RadNet City of London until the end of February 2027 in the first instance, with a probationary period of 6 months.
