About the Role

As Office Manager and Executive Assistant to the Director of External Relations, you will provide high-level and comprehensive administrative and organisational support to the Director to ensure the smooth, efficient and effective running of the Director’s office and the Directorate overall. Duties will include managing the Director’s diary and supporting the Director with managing the Directorate budget, and support for various projects and activities. You will also provide support to the wider Directorate senior leadership team when required. The role will require considerable initiative, judgement and adaptability to decide on appropriate courses of action and to react to changing circumstances.

This is a full time, fixed term contract of up to 12 months covering parental leave starting in September 2024.

About You

You will have experience of working in a busy administrative role, have excellent IT skills and be used to managing and reconciling budgets. You will be able to communicate professionally with staff at all levels within the University.

About the Department

The External Relations Directorate is responsible for the University’s external activities comprising of- communications, marketing and widening participation, admissions, international affairs, and alumni relations and development.  The activities of the Directorate are wide ranging and include, for example, organising open days and graduation ceremonies, protecting and enhancing the University’s reputation, running activities to attract students from under-represented backgrounds and developing and managing relationships with partner organisations across the world.
