Since 2023, the University of Lincoln has offered a MSc Speech and Language Therapy (pre-registration) programme as part of our graduate-entry qualifying degrees. We have an exciting opportunity for a registered Speech and Language Therapist to join our academic team as our first cohort nears completion of their studies, in January 2025. This is your opportunity to influence the future of our profession, through delivery of an innovative programme.
We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist with clinical, teaching, or research experience related to communication needs in adulthood (associate with both acquired and lifespan conditions). Previous experience of teaching adult learners, supporting practice learning or teaching in higher education would be advantageous. If you also have an interest in contributing to learning opportunities around Eating, Drinking, and Swallowing needs, this would be particularly valuable.
Your role would include supporting the learning and assessment of first- and second-year students, module leadership within the second year curriculum, being a personal tutor, and contributing to interprofessional teaching within the School.
The School of Health and Social Care offers a range of undergraduate, post-graduate degrees and post-registration continuous professional development programmes. We have an income of over £11m, 120 academic staff and over 1800 students registered on the School’s programmes across Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Paramedic Science, Diagnostic Radiography, Health and Social Care, and Research.
There are many great benefits of working for the University, including: 35 days annual leave per annum (pro rata) with an additional 14 days bank holidays and University concessionary days (including University closure for the Christmas to New Year period annually), the equivalent of 6 weeks protected time for personal development and scholarly activity, hybrid working to support academic staff to work on campus and at home, and full funding to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Health Professions Education.
We are happy to consider a joint appointment with an NHS employer. Please contact Mary Heritage, Programme Lead, at mheritage@lincoln.ac.uk, or Sophie Willis, Associate Professor, at SWillis@lincoln.ac.uk for more details or to discuss the opportunity further.
We are an equal opportunities employer, celebrate diversity and are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment for all employees, regardless of background or experience.
Lecturer salary from £37,099 to £42,978 per annum pro rata.
Senior Lecturer salary from £42,978 to £54,395 per annum pro rata.
