About the role
We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the lab of Prof Syma Khalid to work on large-scale molecular dynamics simulations of portions of the bacterial cell envelope. This post is funded by EPSRC via an Established Career fellowship awarded to Professor Syma Khalid and thus forms part of a bigger initiative within the lab and with collaboration with experimental labs in Oxford and at the Rosalind Franklin Institute.
This full-time fixed-term post is funded by the EPSRC for up to 2 years in the first instance.
The actual starting salary offered will be based on qualifications and relevant skills acquired and will also be determined by the funding available.

About you
Applicants should hold a PhD/DPhil or be near completion of a PhD/DPhil in, computational Biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry and should have experience of setting up, running and analysing molecular dynamics simulations. You should have experience of simulations of large multicomponent systems ideally at both atomistic and coarse-grain levels. This project will be part of a larger initiative and thus some experience of collaborative work is highly desirable.
