Pepperdine University London seeks a part-time Arabic instructor to teach an introductory language course during the term beginning in September 2024. Pepperdine University is an American university with numerous satellite campuses around the world. This position is based in our London study center in South Kensington, London.
Module Title(s): “Elementary Arabic I”
Module Description: First semester in the one-year beginning sequence. By the end of the first semester, students will have learned the Arabic alphabet, have developed a foundational vocabulary, and be capable of reading, writing, and articulating short sentences in elementary Modern Standard Arabic (MSA).
Term Dates/Times: 9 September–13 December 2024.
Class meetings will be scheduled for a total of 4 hours per week (M–Th).
Location: Lectures will be held in-person at the Pepperdine University facility in South Kensington (SW7 2PG). The integration of local site visits and excursions which support the curriculum are welcome and encouraged.
Job responsibilities: The instructor is responsible for creating and delivering lectures, selecting readings, homework assignments & exams, as well as marking assignments, calculating final grades, and corresponding with students (approx. 5-10 students enrolled in each module).
