About the role

This is an exciting new opportunity to develop UCL Faculty of Engineering Science’s engagement with industry and innovation audiences, focusing on strategic domains that span multiple Departments of the Faculty and more widely across UCL as appropriate.

One role is available joining a new team of three people in total, where your specific area of focus will be Security and Defence as well as input into the following domains:

  • Robotics and Automation
  • Future propulsion, fuels, and energy
  • Future Compute

This is not intended to be an exhaustive remit and a team-based approach will be expected, supporting one another. An indicative one day a week will be reserved to support activities which fall within the scope of cross-departmental industry and innovation engagement, though lie outside of the role’s focus domains.

Domains may periodically change as Faculty and external priorities develop.

Hybrid working, a minimum of 60% on-site.

About you

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following criteria:

  • Either experience of working in and/or with Higher Education or research organisations or experience in industry and/or government with a focus on science, engineering, or technology.
  • Experience of creating a communication plan and assets, including website content, to deliver strategic objectives.
  • Ability to research and extrapolate information using the internet and databases.
  • Able to organise seminars, workshops and talk to technical audiences.
