Admissions Officer

University Academy 92 (UA92)

THE ROLE

We are looking for a driven and collaborative team player who works on their own initiative and demonstrates a willingness to get stuck in with all tasks across the organisation. We are a ‘one-team’ culture which represents our ability to support each other across all areas of the business – we need someone who is a motivated self-starter, who can work independently and creatively on multiple projects at one time and is equally comfortable undertaking administrative work as they are presenting to prospective students.

The ideal candidate will have some experience in either Higher Education recruitment and admissions and/or a track record of success in administration. In either case, the successful candidate will understand targets, relationship building and the importance of effective and robust systems. In this role, confidence is key. We need people who can build relationships at a rapid speed, for the long-term, with, schools and colleges, UCAS, teachers and advisers, community groups, councils and most importantly, prospective students.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • To work with the Admissions Manager to oversee the effective assessment and processing of all applications to study at UA92.
  • Ultimately, lead on all inbound (phone/email etc) enquiries regarding all aspects of UA92 including but not limited to applications, courses, fees/funding, accommodation, academic administration policies and processes at UA92, ensuring a professional and customer orientated frontline service is delivered to all applicants and students.
  • To assist with the recruitment of students in particular markets, sectors and in general as part of the broader student recruitment efforts. 
  • To assist in achieving challenging student recruitment targets through high quality activities and the provision of information, advice and guidance at schools, colleges and recruitment events across the UK.
  • To develop existing excellent relationships with key stakeholders including teachers and careers advisors to develop a sustainable pipeline of prospective students.
  • The role will require some evening and weekend work in line with requirements.
  • Assist with the assessment of both UCAS and direct applications to UA92 for any of our multiple entry points from both home and international students.
  • Effectively assess and process applications for all levels of course that UA92 offers
  • Strong working knowledge of Higher Education in general, including technical knowledge of the application processes and cycles and Student Finance. 
  • To ensure effective data entry and analysis of trends relating to Admissions and the evolution of our CRM system.
  • To work closely with a wide range of academic and professional services staff at UA92 and develop and maintain productive working relationships with the Lancaster University, UCAS and UA92 Global staff.
  • Experience of supporting and interviewing international applicants
  • Working knowledge of home and international student recruitment / application processes for Higher Education

Student Recruitment and Relationship Building

  • Assist with existing target schools, building and sustaining successful relationships with variety of stakeholders.
  • Represent UA92 at external recruitment/school and college events throughout the UK
  • Give information, advice and guidance to prospective students about courses at UA92, the application process and student finance.
  • Deliver high quality presentations about UA92 and other aspects of higher education both on and off campus.
  • Assist with planning, delivery of fun and accessible activities that raise aspirations in the local community whilst building awareness of UA92, ensuring information is accurate, up to date and appropriate for the relevant audience.
  • Assist with online recruitment and conversion activity such as web chats and virtual open days.
  • Liaise and network with teachers, careers professionals and community organisations to develop effective relationships to meet challenging recruitment targets.
  • Support the development of strategic relationships with key schools and colleges to drive recruitment to UA92.

Data and evaluation

  • Collect, monitor and share data on UA92’s recruitment activities and in particular, play a key role in managing the ‘target schools’ plan using available data.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and development of UA92 student recruitment activities.

Qualifications:

  • Degree level education
  • Demonstration of sustained professional development (Desirable)
  • Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent administration skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised, with an ability to prioritise and manage competing demands and multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure and meet challenging deadlines
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to solve problems creatively and quickly
  • Experience of processing Higher Education applications (Desirable)
