Applications are invited for a Development Officer (Events), who will report to the Head of Development (Events) and work collaboratively with other members of the Development & Alumni Relations Team, as well as across the College. The primary responsibility is the successful development, implementation, and delivery of all donor and alumni events.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and deliver a wide range of donor and alumni events, ensuring they run smoothly and successfully.
Work closely with internal and external contacts to build relationships that facilitate successful event execution.
Demonstrate excellent event management skills, including planning, organization, and on-the-day management.
Provide exemplary customer service to all stakeholders, including donors, alumni, and College staff.
Collaborate effectively with the Development & Alumni Relations Team and other College departments.
Take initiative and work independently, demonstrating self-motivation and strong organizational skills.
Negotiate with vendors and service providers to secure the best terms for event services.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience in event management, preferably within a higher education or similar setting.
Strong organizational, communication, and negotiating skills.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering them on time and within budget.
Skills and Competencies:
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations with tact and professionalism.
Team player with a strong sense of collegiality and willingness to assist colleagues.
Flexibility and adaptability in approach to work, including a willingness to take on new projects.
