Postdoctoral Research Associate (SEE)

This part-time (0.37 FTE), ESRC IAA Translational Funding funded post is available immediately until 30^th April 2025 to support the work of Dr Eleni Dimitrellou. It’s based at our St Luke`s campus.

The post
You will work on a small-scale empirical project to co-develop together with Devon County Council, local and international Educational Psychologists, a Social, Emotional Education (SEE) teacher professional development programme.

The main objectives are:

• To understand the mental health needs of teachers in the South West.
• To co-produce together with Devon County Council (DCC), external advisors and a multidisciplinary team of university researchers a new wellbeing teacher professional development program consisting of five asynchronous online sessions (3.75 hours) to enhance teacher outcomes on SEL skills and efficacy in addressing SEMH needs.
• To evaluate teacher SEL skills and self-efficacy before and after the delivery of the teacher professional development programme.
• To assist with organising two knowledge-exchange webinars (2 hours) to evaluate the SEE teacher professional programme.

About you

You will:

• Be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
• Possess a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study.
• Be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes.
