The Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Oxford is seeking to appoint a Laboratory Manager in Isotope Geochemistry. The role will support research across the department in across the themes of Ocean Biogeochemistry, Earth Surface Geochemistry, Stratigraphy and Sedimentology, and Volcanology. These groups conduct world-leading research supported by national and international funding agencies.
The post holder will apply new and existing approaches in analytical chemistry (e.g. column chemistry and sample purification) and non-traditional isotope geochemistry applied to these research themes. The Laboratory Manager will run the Cleansuite Small Research Facility and operate the Multi-Collector ICP-MS facilities. The Laboratory Manager in Isotope Geochemistry will be able to develop new research avenues and collaborations, assist with activities such as the writing of research proposals, and will help support the research culture of the Department.
About you:
You should have a demonstrated record of research and innovation in isotope geochemistry and a record of planning, implementing and publishing research projects in a timely manner. You should also have the ability to work independently and to work well with others in a large and diverse research team, and have excellent time management, communication and organisational skills.
