Research Information Coordinator (1.0FTE)

Glasgow School of Art

Location: Glasgow
Salary: £36,024 to £41,732 per annum
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent
Placed On: 28th May 2024
Closes: 3rd July 2024

Applications are invited for a full time Research Information Coordinator, in the Research Department at The Glasgow School of Art (GSA).

The Research Department provides academic and professional support to GSA’s academic staff and postgraduate research students.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational administration and development of our research repository RADAR (https://radar.gsa.ac.uk/), and for providing direct support and advice to users on depositing a wide range of research outputs, including theses. Developing researchers’ understanding of Open Access (OA), and advising on publishing and licensing models, individual publisher policies, rights retention strategies, and the requirements of funders and the Research Excellence Framework (REF), are also important aspects of this role.

A team player, you will enjoy working in a creative educational environment and will be familiar with cataloguing and metadata standards in a repository, library or archive. With excellent time management and communication skills, you will have the ability to work well under pressure whilst ensuring attention to detail, as well as being able to analyse and communicate technical and policy information in a user-friendly manner.

You will be educated to degree level, preferably in Library and Information Studies or an equivalent subject area, with previous relevant experience in a library, archive or research repository environment. A sound understanding of repositories, OA and Research Data Management, and how they apply in a creative academic setting, would be an advantage.

Please contact Nicola Siminson, Research Information Manager, for informal enquiries:  n.siminson@gsa.ac.uk.
