We are seeking to appoint a new academic member of staff in Neuroscience in the School of Psychology & Neuroscience at either Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Reader level.

A successful candidate at lecturer level would be a scholar with a growing international research reputation in Neuroscience and commitment to delivering high quality teaching within the broad field of Neuroscience. The successful candidate would be expected to have a range of interests and to be active in research publication that strengthens or complements other research in the School. They should also have some familiarity with grant seeking processes in relation to research councils and other sources.

A successful candidate at senior lecturer/reader level would be a scholar with an international research reputation in Neuroscience and commitment to delivering high quality teaching within the broad field of Neuroscience.  The successful candidate would be expected to have a range of interests and to be highly active in research publication that strengthens or complements other research in the School. You would have a proven track record of securing significant grant funding and leading high quality externally funded research projects.

Candidates at both levels should hold a PhD in a cognate discipline and would be expected to establish an internationally recognised research group with links to other researchers across our School’s four major research themes (see: here) and with other Schools at the University. Excellent teaching skills and an interest in promoting knowledge exchange are essential as the successful candidate would contribute to the development and delivery of teaching at all levels and fulfil administrative roles within and beyond the School of Psychology & Neuroscience. They should also be capable of teaching the subject to undergraduate and taught postgraduate students from a wide range of backgrounds.

*Appointment at Grade 8 Senior Lecturer/Reader level (salary range: £57,696 - £64,914) will be considered for candidates with more experience/knowledge of the area with the job description to be amended accordingly.

This is a standard appointment, with a start date of 3 January 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter.
