We are seeking to appoint an Apprentice Maintenance General Builder to join the Campus Operations team, within Estates, who offer a reactive and planned maintenance service to University owned properties across all our campuses and sites.
You will be supported to learn how to carry out a variety of basic reactive and planned maintenance tasks across a number of trades.
The role holder will assist in the provision of an effective and prompt customer focussed, professional and efficient service to the University in accordance with its requirements, aims, objectives and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
You will be required to complete a 2-year 6 months training programme that will cover all aspects of the role and will be delivered through in-house training, as well as day-release or other distance learning methods delivered by Windsor Forest Colleges Group, or similar provider. You will complete a Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship which is within the Construction and Built Environment sector and you will complete the Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative apprenticeship standard.

The requirement to have a driver’s licence is an occupational requirement of the role, the role holder will need to drive light vans (on their own) to carry out repairs at the various sites that the maintenance team must service (the University operatives over several sites). This must be done independently by the role holder and public transport is not a viable option to carry out such tasks (especially where the role holder has to transport particular tools in order to execute repairs).
