International Student Recruitment Manager

Overview of role:

To support the Head of International Marketing and Engagement in the delivery of successful international student recruitment and marketing activities across all core target markets and channels.

To assist the Head of International Marketing and Engagement to plan and implement the international student recruitment strategies and to achieve the annual recruitment target. 

To liaise with relevant stakeholders to organise, plan and deliver marketing activities and campaigns, which support the international student recruitment plans by informing prospective students about opportunities to study at the University of Portsmouth London, raising the profile of the University and increasing the volume and quality of student enquiries and subsequent application and enrolment rates. 

Responsibilities:

International Student Recruitment

  • Be responsible for international student recruitment to achieve the agreed annual target of the UoP London campus.
  • Support the Head of International Marketing and Engagement to develop and implement the international recruitment strategy
  • Plan and implement appropriate marketing, communication, applicant engagement and conversion strategies and plans.
  • Participate in international student recruitment activities, consisting of education fairs, visits to schools, supporting existing and signing up new agents, and identifying collaborative partners including overseas training organisations, colleges, high schools and universities.
  • Actively expand the partner networks, including agents and partner universities across the identified key UoP London international market.
  • Liaise with the internal departments to ensure a smooth and effective agent commission payment practice
  • Prepare regular reports on recruitment activities, outcomes, and market trends.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies.

Marketing and Outreach:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team at UoP London to develop and implement targeted marketing campaigns and materials for international audiences.
  • Lead on the creation and delivery of engaging marketing content and social media strategy
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and information sessions to partners, prospective students and partners.
  • Provide regular analytical reports and data analysis to support senior management in making informed business decisions to remain competitive in the market.

Application and Admission:

  • Guide prospective students through the application and enrolment process, providing support and information as needed.
  • Devise and implement appropriate applicant engagement and conversion plan
  • Collaborate with the admissions team to review international applications regularly and ensure compliance with admission requirements.
  • Work with other departments to facilitate the pre-arrival and enrolment process of international students

Stakeholder Support and administration

  • Conduct associated administrative and management work and support.
  • Support Open Days for UK recruitment in London when required
  • Support relevant internal and external stakeholders in a professional and consistent manner in order to successfully increase the number of international student applications, conversions and enrolment.
  • Liaise and work collaboratively with academics within the university to support international student recruitment and conversion and enhance the students’ experience at UoP London.
  • Work with the line manager and academics, build internal relationships across the University to acquire a depth and breadth of knowledge of course subject areas.
  • Any other task allocated by the line manager. 

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Relevant experience in international student recruitment through retail and working with partners.
  • Proven track of being able to deliver the student’s recruitment target.
  • Experience with CRM systems and recruitment software.
  • Good interpersonal skills, displaying a confident and friendly approach with the ability to deal sensitively and appropriately in different situations within a diverse environment.
  • Ability to adapt and work effectively in different situations in order to prioritise and carry out a variety of tasks while remaining calm under pressure.
  • Able and willing to travel overseas and occasionally work during the weekend.
  • Ability to travel internationally and work flexible hours as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Desirable Requirements:

  • Demonstrate experience and a proven track record in student recruitment from the South Asian market.
  • Strong understanding of global education systems and international student mobility trends.
