We are currently looking for an experienced Higher Scientist – Cell Based Assays to join our Control Testing team in the Science, Research & Innovation group.
Within a week of working here, your day could look like this: performing analytical assays in compliance with ISO17025, coordinating with the scientists within the Control Testing teams to ensure the timetable of analysis and documentation of samples supplied for laboratory testing and data entry into a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is achieved, and engaging with stakeholders, including colleagues across the Agency and other National Control Laboratories, to ensure quality of service and identify improvement and changes in working practices.
The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience together with experience in the cell-based analysis of biological samples, including vaccines, experience of using a Laboratory Information Management System, and expertise in the growth and manipulation of primary and continuous cells.
They will also have the ability to communicate in a straightforward, honest and engaging manner, choosing appropriate styles to maximise understanding and impact by sharing information as appropriate.
