We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual interested in cardiovascular research to join and support research activities of Dr Jovana Serbanovic-Canic at the Division of Clinical Medicine, School of Medicine and Population Health. As a Research Technician you will join a British Heart Foundation-funded project investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms of atherosclerosis, a disease of arteries that causes heart attack and stroke.
You will work closely with Dr Serbanovic-Canic to oversee the efficient daily operation of the laboratory, assist laboratory management and provide essential support for specific research activities. This post is an ideal opportunity for the successful candidate to gain new skills and experience in biomedical research and offers an excellent opportunity for career development.
You will be enthusiastic about research and have good molecular biology skills, such as conventional and real-time PCR and Western Blotting. Experience working with mammalian cell culture and/or mouse models will be an advantage. You will be able to communicate effectively and have excellent record keeping skills.
