UCL Geography spans a broad range of Human and Physical Geography and we are committed to cross-disciplinary teaching and research. It has been highly rated in all seven UK Research Assessment Exercises, and the 2021 REF confirmed that 96% of the Department’s research activity is considered World Leading (4*) or Internationally Excellent (3*).
The UCL Department of Geography is seeking to appoint a one-year fixed term Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in Biodiversity Conservation and Ecology at 1FTE from Septem ber 2024. The salary range for this position is Grade 7, SP 33-37: £45,521 - £50,585 per annum (including London Allowance).
The position will support geography teaching and tutorial delivery across the Department, with a focus on biodiversity conservation and ecology. The Department encourages applications from physical geographers and environmental scientists who additionally can undertake tutorial support across our 1st year curriculum. The role also has an allocation of time for research and professional development.
Candidates must hold a PhD in a relevant discipline by the time they begin their appointment. Applicants must demonstrate expertise in the areas to be taught, with an aptitude for teaching and developing Geography modules at both undergraduate and graduate levels and be committed to fostering a positive learning environment for students. Excellent presentation and teaching communication skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively and to deadlines is essential.
