The opportunity

We're seeking a motivated individual with experience in quality assurance and governance structures to join our small team. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in developing the governance structure for our department and supporting the efficient administration of our programmes and courses. Working closely with colleagues, you'll collect and analyse data, identify best practices, and devise innovative solutions to challenges.

Some key elements of the role include:

Quality Assurance: Collaborate with senior colleagues to ensure quality processes, data analysis, and adherence to standards.

Supporting Governance: Maintain and enhance the School's governance structure, coordinate meetings, and ensure documentation accuracy.

Support for Scottish Graduate Programme in Economics (SGPE): Act as the first point of contact for the directors of our multi-institution postgraduate programme, supporting the governance and planning activities, providing administrative support, and ensuring compliance with policies.

Curriculum Planning and Delivery: Maintain curriculum data, assist in updating course information, and support teaching documentation review.

Administering Student Cases: Handle complex student cases, including misconduct and complaints, in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

Enhancement Projects and Continuous Improvement: Support strategic objectives, lead projects, and foster a culture of improvement.

Student Feedback Administration and Reporting: Analyse feedback data, report findings, and support evidence-based decision-making.

Other School Administration: Assist in ad-hoc projects and activities as needed, including support for SGPE bids.

Your Skills and Attributes for Success:

  • Proficient in analysing, interpreting, and presenting both quantitative and qualitative data with meticulous attention to detail. 
  • Knowledge and experience of project work and project management techniques. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse colleagues and external stakeholders, including senior personnel. 
  • Possesses a friendly and professional demeanour, capable of delivering efficient service even under pressure in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently through effective time management and organisational skills. 
  • High level of computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office tools such as SharePoint. 
  • Previous experience in Quality Assurance work within a university or higher education sector.
