STS Group is looking for a “Head of College Counsellor” role for it two renowned prestigious Cambridge School in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Role: The College Counselor designs and directs a program of activities to assist students with college planning in 10th-12th grades including academic preparation for college, meeting both graduation and college acceptance requirements, college searches, school and financial aid application, scholarship searches, testing etc.

We are looking for highly motivated and dedicated individuals who meet the following criteria: 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set and achieve challenging yet pragmatic Top 10 university admission targets.
  • Demonstrate exceptional expertise in guiding students and parents in providing quality and actionable information on admission to the top 50 universities.
  • Guide and prepare students to secure the best scholarship available in their selected universities.
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations and schedule activities, programs and university representatives.
  • Establish strong connections with admission offices of the top 50 universities and assist students with the leverage of university connections.
  • Obtain, organize, file and display guidance materials, catalogue for students' use, and maintain displays and bulletin boards.
  • Guide and support students to register for popular internships and research projects, which help them secure admission to top universities.
  • Plan, organize, develop and implement career events and publications; prepare letters, flyers, and other materials to publicize Career Center services, resources and speaker programs.
  • Contact, schedule, and arrange guest speakers from the local business community, colleges and military services to present information regarding specific occupations.
  • Schedule visitations by representatives from local and International Universities; organize, coordinate and publicize career-related events and other opportunities for students to learn about higher education.
  • Develop and maintain a current and comprehensive occupational library, including information on careers and career clusters, employment prospects and trends and employment requirements and opportunities.
  • Provide information concerning scholastic aptitude and achievement tests; assist students with applications and scheduling.
  • Attend meetings, conferences and seminars regarding career trends, University entrance and financial aid.
  • Keep an update on School Alumni and arrange annual Alumni meet and greet.

Skills Required:

  • Interpersonal Skills.
  • Confidentiality.
  • MS Word (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) is a must.

Education:

  • Masters in any Discipline

Experience:

  • Background in admissions or college counseling preferred.
  • Ideally, at least 10 Years of Career Counselling.

Languages: English Proficiency is a must. Knowledge of any other language. Ex: French is an added advantage.
