The Research Partnerships and HP3 Hub Lead will play a key role in developing our vision for a plant and microbial research and innovation hub at the Norwich Research Park and provide high level support for establishing key strategic research partnerships.

About the role:

The John Innes Centre and its partner, The Sainsbury Laboratory, have been granted over £300million in capital funding from Government to establish new facilities and a world-leading hub for UK plant and microbial research and innovation on the Norwich Research Park. The hub will act as a catalyst for new initiatives, helping forge new scientific collaborations, partnerships and networks, to advance ground-breaking discovery research and deliver high scientific, societal, and economic impact.

The Research Partnerships and HP3 Hub Lead will play a key role in developing the vision for the hub with the Norwich Research Park partners and the wider plant and microbial sector and provide high level support for engaging with the scientific community to establish key strategic research partnerships.  

The ideal candidate:

Candidates should have a degree in a relevant science area or equivalent experience and broad scientific awareness across subjects and disciplines relevant to the work of JIC. They should have a detailed understanding of the research environment in the UK and internationally and previous experience of effectively working with external academic stakeholders. They should have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with others.

This role is fixed term for 18 months, with the possibility of extension beyond this.
