Based in the Applied Biophotonics Group in the School of Biosciences, you will work on a project which aims to radically re-design the way super-resolution microscopy is applied to cell, environmental, and clinical biology. This includes the development and validation of new fluorescent probes, sample chemistries and benchmarking of the imaging hardware.
This role pivots on a series of collaborations with experts in expansion microscopy, cell biology, and synthetic biology. In addition, the project will develop a series of case studies of application in collaboration with field scientists, clinical and industrial stakeholders. You will work with the principal investigator to develop hydrogel chemistries, fluorescent and DNA marker probes and their application for imaging tissue samples and whole organisms at nano-scale resolution.
Applicants must have a higher education degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, or closely allied discipline. Evidence of maintaining (or contributing to maintaining) appropriate records of training, risk assessments, health and safety measures, inventories which constitute laboratory management is also essential.
