We are seeking an ambitious, talented, motivated, and goal-driven individual to be at the centre of an innovative 30-month KTP project with Quality Bearings Online Ltd (QBOL) -a Leeds based SME which is looking to exploit AI-enabled digital innovation to rapidly advance its recent global growth.
The Role
Supported by a comprehensive project plan and academic experts at Leeds Beckett University, you will work with the team at QBOL to undertake the following list of tasks:
The Company
QBOL is a highly successful Leeds-based distributor and exporter of quality bearings products. It supplies precision bearings, engineering spares, and technologically advanced lubricants to customers worldwide.
QBOL are recipients of the Queens Award for Export (2021) and on an impressive growth trajectory since the business was founded in 2012. You will be based at the QBOL premises in Leeds and will be championed as part of the senior team.
The Person
We are looking for applications from a self-starter, with strong interpersonal skills, and project management experience. You will have a minimum undergraduate degree in Computing, or similar, along with business or commercial awareness or aptitude. The candidate will have a strong technical background in AI software development (i.e. AI and Machine Learning programming). Some experience in full stack development for web-based applications would be desirable.
The role will provide you with senior-level experience and an opportunity to lead a project across a range of business functions. This will be an exciting role for the right candidate presenting an excellent opportunity to make a tangible difference to the business. You will be well supported by academic experts at Leeds Beckett and colleagues at QBOL. To be effective in the role, you will need to be open to new challenges and be prepared to involve yourself in all aspects of the business.
This role is part of the national Knowledge Transfer Partnership scheme. You will benefit from a management training programme and a personal development package of £5000 to deliver this project. KTPs are an invaluable way for talented graduates to fast-track their career development and establish themselves as the industry leaders of tomorrow. Leeds Beckett University also offer all our KTP project leaders the opportunity to pursue a fully funded postgraduate research degree.
