Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate must possess a PhD in Electrical & Computer Engineering or a related discipline with an emphasis in Signal Processing.

Candidates should also possess:

  • Industry and teaching experience in at least three (3) of the following: Signals and Systems; Digital Image Processing; Microprocessor Systems; Numerical Methods; Digital Electronic Systems
  • Substantial record of research and publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals and leading conferences in the field
  • Experience in supervision of engineering capstone projects
  • Knowledge in MATLAB/Python/C/C++/ASM Programming
  • Proficiency in Image, Video and Audio Processing algorithms including compression as well as Deep Neural Networks

Candidates with the following would have an advantage:

  • Active membership and participation in relevant professional engineering bodies
  • Industry experience in Signal Processing
  • Experience in the development of university-level courses
  • At least 1 publication in well recognized scholarly journals that demonstrate applied research in Signal Processing and allied fields, and/or Engineering Education
  • Success in performing collaborative research
  • Familiarity with programme accreditation procedures and quality assurance 

The following would be considered assets:

  • Possesses or qualifies for REng and/or CEng status
  • Record of innovative pedagogy and andragogy in face-to-face and virtual environments
  • Engagement in innovation and outreach activities
  • Experience in development and delivery of pre-university STEM programmes
