We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lecturer/Lecturer (Research & Teaching Track) to lead and undertake world-class research consistent with the research strategy of the School and College. You will build an internationally competitive and externally grant funded research program, publishing high impact research papers, presenting at international meetings, and develop your experience in review and advisory groups and panels.

The successful candidate will have an appropriate record of academic achievement and will have attained or be on trajectory to attain an international standing in their specialist area of Immunology.

The University of Glasgow has a proud history of Immunology research and currently runs one of the few Immunology-specific degree courses in the United Kingdom. Immunology research in the University of Glasgow incorporates a range of internationally competitive programmes in basic cellular and molecular immunology allied to major translational centres. Immunology has always been research strength of the University of Glasgow and the successful appointee will be expected to contribute to the maintenance, and furtherance, of immunology as a major research focus in Glasgow. Immunology sits within the School of Infection and Immunity, which boasts extensive technical expertise in cellular, molecular and in vivo biology and excellent translational links. There are also strong research and teaching links to programmes in low and middle-income countries, which provide an opportunity for important health comparisons internationally. There is therefore a rich technical infrastructure and environment suitable for supporting any contemporary programme in immunology.

Glasgow is an exciting and productive environment for immunology research and the proximity to colleagues working in the microbiology, parasitology, virology, cardiovascular and cancer areas provides further scope for dynamic collaborations.

We welcome applications from candidates who hold a PhD in a relevant subject area and have academic/professional experience in subject specialism with proven experience of successfully securing research grant funding.
