The UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science delivers five of the most popular undergraduate subjects (Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology) in the UCD Science Programme. In addition, the School delivers six highly sought after taught MSc programmes (Biotechnology, Biotechnology & Business,
Biotherapeutics, Biotherapeutic & Business, Toxicology & Regulatory Affairs and Biological & Biomolecular Science). Both our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes include laboratory-based classes. In addition to our teaching activities, the School is home to over 40 academic staff with highly successful research programmes.
The School is seeking to appoint a Technical Officer to provide technical support to the School’s Biochemistry Programme. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the undergraduate teaching laboratories and to participate in the development of new practical classes and practical tutorials where required. As a Technical Officer, the appointee will be expected to have some experience in a teaching laboratory setting or similar environment. In addition, the candidate will be required to support the research programmes of the School and to undertake other duties as may be requested by the Head of School, that are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post.
