Applications are invited for a lab technician to join the group of the Professor of Mycology and Infectious Diseases to work on an exciting translational laboratory project on the mechanisms of antifungal resistance in the human fungal pathogen Candida. The project would be based in Prof Bicanic’s fungal Research laboratory at the Institute of Infection and Immunity, St George’s University of London (SGUL), and is funded by a UKRI (MRC) Programme Grant on mitigation of Candida resistance.
Successful applicants will have a BSc in a biomedical science discipline, with skills in routine bench microbiology, including microbial culture and susceptibility testing. Applicants will be enthusiastic about translational/ antifungal resistance research and interacting with a team of clinical researchers; well-organized with attention to detail; and be able to undertake all relevant laboratory work independently following training.
