About the Role
The postholder will deliver a high-quality research development and pre award support service to QMUL staff, acting as key liaison with funders and project partners. They will develop and co-ordinate competitive multidisciplinary bids, ensure compliance with regulations and funder requirements, lead contract negotiation and be responsible for the preparation of contracts, and supervise budget preparation and provide advice on compliance and financial viability. The postholder will also support the Senior International Partnerships Manager to stimulate research activity and increase research income from domestic and overseas funding sources and support Faculty strategic objectives.
About You
Educated to a degree level or with equivalent professional experience in the fields of physical or medical sciences, you will have proven experience in international research projects such as GCRF, Newton, lead agency schemes, including proposal co-ordination and reviews, contract preparation and negotiations, handling IP and confidential information. You will also have good working knowledge of funder rules of major domestic and overseas funders (NIHR, UKRI, Wellcome, NIH etc) and HEI finance system and experience of preparing research costings.
About the Department
The newly created central International Research and Innovation team will manage research and partnership development plus pre and post-award support for EU and international research collaborations across all three Faculties. It aims to provide strategic engagement of international partners and funders externally, deliver competitive and high quality proposals and projects internally, and to ensure compliance with the UK, EU and international regulations and funder requirements.
