About the Role
We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Keighley. The SEND Provision across Leeds City College offer a range of high-quality services to meet the needs of our students. The department works across the college with a wide variety of students aged between 14 and 18 who have a range additional needs. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting and encouraging our students to succeed. We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, independent, supportive and understanding, who Is willing to learn and co-operate to meet the needs of the students. You will be based predominantly at one of our campuses but could be required to work across sites depending on the need of our students. All of our sites are within a short traveling distance from the city centre.
Our Learning Support Assistants are an essential part of our SEND Provision. You will be working within a supportive team of around 70 professionals across the College who all have a passion for ensuring our students can achieve - no matter their background or ability. This role is perfect for anyone wanting to gain an entry level insight into working with students who have additional high level or SEND needs, those wanting to transition into teaching and who also want to progress through the SEND Pathway. You will have the opportunity to progress internally from this role either into our Teaching Apprenticeships, Specialist Learning Support Assistant Roles or work towards becoming a SEND Team Leader.
