Finance Manager (109031-0424)

The University Finance Office is seeking to appoint a Finance Manager to join the Departmental Services Team (”DST”), supporting a number of areas of the University across the Professional Services Group. Applications are preferred from candidates seeking full-time positions, part-time applications will be considered.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will in the first instance provide maternity leave cover supporting the University’s Information and Digital Group, following which a more enduring portfolio will be assigned. You would normally have an Assistant Management Accountant (typically AAT qualified) reporting to you.

You will join the Departmental Services Team which is well established and a supportive environment in which to build a career at the University. It is primarily engaged in management accounting and Finance business partnering. You will provide accurate and timely management information and analysis to senior University management, Heads of Departments and other stakeholders in order to aid planning, control and decision-making, especially in the deployment of university resources and to a lesser extent maximisation of income.

We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so. 

The role is campus based however staff can opt to work under the Finance Office’s current hybrid policy where a maximum of 40% of time (2 days per week for full time staff; normally Tuesdays and Fridays) can be worked remotely. Further details are available on request or at interview stage.
