The University of Leeds is one of the top 75 universities in the world. We have a truly global community, with more than 39,000 students from 170 different countries and over 9,000 staff of 100 different nationalities. Established in 1904, we have a strong tradition of academic excellence, reflected in first-class student education, along with world-leading research that has a real impact around the globe.
You will have a recognised mechanical engineering qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing or Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), with experience of working on-site, preferably within a similar large and complex environment. You will have a flexible approach to ensure the service being delivered is efficient and effective to meet the needs of a wide portfolio of clients. You will join our Maintenance team that forms part of the Facilities Directorate, which is dedicated to providing a wide range of support services connected with the effective management, development and maintenance of the University
You will report in to a Zonal Supervisor or Manager who is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of reactive and planned maintenance, where you will be central to delivering the student and staff experience for the University. You will have successfully completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering (Maintenance), Plumbing or HVAC apprenticeship with extensive on-site experience. You will be able to work unsupervised, and on your own initiative, within a large and complex organisation, whilst maintaining a safe working environment for all our staff, students and visitors.
