Are you wanting to play an instrumental part in the success of the University of Sheffield as a leading University for Knowledge Exchange (KE), Innovation and Impact? And do you have the skills required to grow the impact, partnerships and reputation of a research intensive University.
It is in this context that we are looking to appoint a Knowledge Exchange Manager, within the Faculty of Science, for the Partnerships & Knowledge Exchange Service within Research, Partnerships and Innovation. The Partnerships & KE Service enables and supports academics, students and external partners to grow impact, partnerships and reputation from KE activity and maximise the University’s market share of KE and innovation funding. The Faculty of Science comprises five departments, each home to world-leading researchers tackling some of our most pressing challenges.
We encourage applicants to use the additional information section on the application to show suitability for the role, demonstrating applicable sector knowledge or experience within Higher Education.
This exciting and strategic role will not only provide you with the opportunity to lead and deliver significant change across a leading Russell Group university but will also provide you with the chance to work across multiple teams, lead relationships with high profile companies and contribute to major funding bids and strategic partnerships.
The Partnerships & KE Service facilitates academically-led partnerships, innovation and knowledge exchange activity to support the delivery of the University’s 5-Year Vision. We are particularly looking for candidates with experience of developing collaborations, leading projects across multiple teams, forming new relationships based on external requirements and strong presentation and communication skills.
The University of Sheffield has a strong culture of excellence in innovation and entrepreneurship. From our pioneering Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), Nuclear AMRC and AMRC Training Centre, which is seen as an exemplar of good practice for collaborative working, to our ambitious Made Together programme, where we work with organisations and individuals across South Yorkshire to make our region greener, healthier, more vibrant and innovative for all. Our ambition is to further grow on this success by setting up more strategic partnerships over the next five years and by continuing to grow and strengthen our impact, KE, and innovation activities.
We believe in the power of diversity to help us address big global challenges and aim to actively build diverse teams. We know that when people come together with different views, approaches, and insights it leads to richer, more creative, and innovative teaching and research, better understanding of student needs and aspirations and the highest level of student experience.
We are committed to enabling our employees to work in a hybrid model with flexibility over when, where and how to achieve the required outputs, in discussion with your manager.
We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and University.
The interviews are scheduled to take in May, if there are any dates you can’t make please indicate this within the additional information section.
